Indigo Blue Powder

Blue plant-based pigment obtained from Persicaria tinctoria. It offers a deep, stable blue suitable for natural dyeing and handmade paint preparation.

Applications

• Indigo vats for textile dyeing;
• Preparation of handmade paints;
• General artistic and textile use;
• Suitable for natural fibres such as cotton, linen, wool and silk.

Works cold and does not require a mordant. Not recommended for food use.

Process

The leaves are harvested in summer and processed to concentrate indigotin. The pigment is dried and ground into a fine, homogeneous powder, ready to use.
