Colours, Spices and Kitchen Aromas

The kitchen can become a small laboratory of natural colours. Spices, coffee, cocoa and chocolate contain colour materials that can be transformed into watercolours, paints, modelling dough and other creative materials.

I want to discover — 2h30

A first approach to the colours found in spices, coffee and cocoa. You will prepare simple liquid watercolours and experiment with different ways of drawing and painting. You will observe materials, intensities, concentrations, colours, aromas and textures, then create a small composition and kitchen colour palette.

I want to continue learning — 4h

Create paints and artistic materials with spices: watercolours, gouache or tempera, homemade aromatic coloured modelling dough and a turmeric anthotype. You will explore sensory proposals suitable for children and take home the prepared paints, a small portion of dough, an anthotype experiment and adaptable activities.

I want to gain my autonomy — 1 day

A teaching laboratory of colours, aromas and textures for educational, artistic and cultural mediation contexts. You will prepare paints, watercolours, gouache, tempera, drawing and printing materials, modelling dough and turmeric anthotypes, and create teaching sheets. Materials are included; preparations are for artistic and educational use, not consumption.
