Tatakizomé — Botanical Hammer Printing

Tatakizomé is a traditional Japanese botanical printing technique: instead of ink, the hammer transfers the plant’s colour and form onto paper. Every leaf or flower leaves a unique mark — there is no right or wrong result.

A direct, meditative experience connecting physical gesture with the revelation of plant matter, with no prior knowledge required.
